Paul Brown co-founder of MYSPORTSHUB writes about the journey of making MYSPORTSHUB a reality…
I first had the idea for MYSPORTSHUB over 15 years ago. It has taken longer than I hoped to make it a reality. Why did it take so long? I’ve asked myself this question many times. Anyone who knows me knows that I can be a tad impatient…(a tad?) ok, ok I’m pretty impatient. That only adds more mystery as to why it took me so long or does it?
When I look back, there have been a few false starts. I just wanted to get the idea live tomorrow (or yesterday!). I didn’t want to mess around with market research. I was a tennis coach who wanted to build his business, I knew it was a good idea. I had spoken to other coaches they thought it was a good idea too, but still I couldn’t get it done tomorrow and tomorrow was too late anyway (well that was what impatient Paul was thinking). So on paper, I’ve got what seems like a good idea but with no real experience in making this type of idea a reality – where do you start?
I always had the same questions going through my head – When would I find the time to do everything that was needed to ensure success (I already had a full-time job and a young family)? I don’t want to go through all of this, for it to fail. How do you even ensure success? Can you ensure success?
So looking back perhaps it was my impatience that is the main reason things have taken a little longer than I would have liked. Over the course of this blog I’d love to share with you how I finally managed to answer some of the questions, some of the challenges I had to accept and overcome and the exciting plans we have for MYSPORTSHUB in the future…oops impatient Paul is kicking in again 🙂
